Guangzhou Airport Terminal 3
Status & opening.
Terminal 3 officially opened on 30 October 2025, the same day Guangzhou Baiyun also placed its fifth runway into service. The inaugural passenger departure from T3 was China Eastern Airlines flight MU6308 (C919) to Beijing Daxing (PKX).
Airlines & flight allocations (initial phase).
At launch, the first group of airlines moving into T3 comprised China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, China United Airlines, Juneyao Air, and Okay Airways (domestic operations). China Eastern’s international flights remain in Terminal 1 for now. Airlines will continue to transition in phases during 2025–2026; passengers should check their ticket/itinerary for the operating terminal.
Facilities & features.
T3 is part of the airport’s Phase III expansion and introduces a smart-airport design (biometric check-in/boarding and automated baggage systems), plus China’s first open-air airport observation deck. With Phase III, Baiyun Airport enters the era of “three terminals + five runways”, targeting 120 million passengers and 3.8 million tons of cargo annually once the expansion is fully ramped up.
Ground transport & intermodal links.
T3 is linked to the new Baiyun Airport East railway station (located beneath T3’s ground transportation center). For metro users, take Metro Line 3 to Gaozeng Station and transfer to the T3 shuttle bus (every ~15 minutes) to reach the terminal. (This is separate from the free Line 3 hop between Airport South〔T1〕 and Airport North〔T2〕.)
