Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport – Terminal

Guangzhou International Airport was opened on 2004 to replace the former airport with the same name which was closed after 72 years of service.

It has a single passenger terminal, which serves for both international and domestic flights. The building is divided by the following sectors: Main Terminal, Area A and Area B.

It serves over 110 domestic flights within the country and 100 international flights.

It is also a hub for the following airlines: China Southern Airlines, FedEx Express, 9 Air, Hainan Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines.

About the name

Guangzhou International Airport was named after the Baiyun Mountain, which means “white cloud” in Chinese, and is closer to downtown than the airport itself. It was also used in order to distinguish the new airport from the old one.
